Amy comes face-to-face with her mum

written by Julie Parsons, directed by Tony Prescott

Amy comes face to face with her mumAmy and Victoria head into Hotten for Amy's belated birthday celebrations. Victoria is fed up with Alex, while Amy is determined that they are going to have a great night out. Amy meets a man in the bar and soon they are kissing until an angry woman named Kerry pulls them apart and punches a shocked Amy in the face.

Amy stares in recognition as the woman - her mother - lays into her boyfriend for cheating on her. Kerry tries to apologise to Amy and chases her down the street to hand over her phone number. Amy is left shocked and fuming - not only has her birthday night out been ruined, her mother is back on the scene...

Meanwhile, Laurel opens up to Rhona that she and Marlon barely speak anymore. Rhona suggests him moving away might help as it will give them both a chance to move on. Rhona asks Laurel to be her bridesmaid, before confiding how she secretly wishes Marlon wasn't joining them in New Zealand, as Leo is so young he will not know any different.

Elsewhere, Chas attempts to ignore Cameron and flirts with Dan, Marlon is still hankering after Laurel, while Alex is grateful when Moira offers him a place to stay.

What we thought...

The girls looking very glam. You forget how stunning Victoria is as she's normally quite casual.

Paddy seems more excited about New Zealand now he's taking his best mate with him.

Don't invite Val even as a joke, Victoria. She might shock you and decide to come with you!

The girls might get to town quicker if they could walk in their shoes.

Are Cain's remarks starting to have an impact on Debbie?

Don't try so hard Chas. You're just making yourself look desperate!

That fella is doing some 'shameless' flirting. (see what we did there?)

Don't be so hard on yourself, Rhona. No one hates you as much as we do right now. Can't believe you can not see Marlon's side in all this.

Paddy and Marlon are not allowed to leave Emmerdale – not that anyone thinks they actually will – but we won't allow it.

Is that his girlfriend or his mother...

Welcome to Emmerdale, Kerry. Your daughter is so pleased to see you. Not!

Amy obviously inherited her mother's fashion sense.

Laurel's the chief bridesmaid. Marlon's the best man. Mmmm...

Laurel/rhona

A flash of skin and Moira's got him moving in. That's Alex with his feet under the table.

Wouldn't hold your breath until Amy calls if I was you, Kerry.
